Behaviorial Interview Questions


  1. What's your ideal company?
    My ideal company is the company that have a clear mission and vision. A company that care about its worker. A company that can can and make use the talents of the worker. All those are the aspects of my ideal company.
  2. What was the last project you headed up, and what was its outcome?
    I don't have any experience leading a team at actual working environment.
  3. Give me an example of a time that you felt you went above and beyond the call of duty at work.
    Once time, I already punched out. I hear the customer for getting mad at the new worker for having to wait for a long time. He's new and didn't know what to do. So I stay back and explain to the customer that we have to wait for the tables to finish before he can be called in. He was not happy at first but after I listened and explain to him the situation. He wasn't mad after that.
  4. Can you describe a time when your work was criticized?
    I was taking my part of a group project in class. Every one have to do their own part of the report. After about 2 days, I present my report to the group. My teammate told me they did not like it with a little criticism. I know my English is not good so I wasn't mad. I ask them what part I can get improvement on. They told what the part that they think I should work more on and give me some ideas.
    I think criticism is necessary for improvement. It's good only if you know how to take it the right way.
  5. Have you ever been on a team where someone was not pulling their own weight? How did you handle it?
    Yes, class project. It was designing software for web use. We had a group of 5. We all have a different roles based on the requirement of the project. One of the team mate have to take on the role He didn't like. So he was kind of falling the entire when it come to the due date. I talk to him and ask what he need help with. And then I talk to the rest of the team to help him out and make sure he's doesn't feel bad about not meeting our expectation. I think that's what team work for. We have each other to reach to the same goal.
  6. Tell me about a time when you had to give someone difficult feedback. How did you handle it?
I didn't have anything like that before. But for me, I personally think the way you present your feedback is very important. It could be a negative feedback, but if you present it in a positive manner, the person who receive your feedback will not feeling down and they can actually learn from their mistakes.
  1. What is your greatest failure, and what did you learn from it?
    When I was in college, I took Advanced English class instead of the regular class since that’s an option. They go to different major. I thought I had what it take. I was never so wrong in my life. They way they grade is based on strict requirement since it's advanced level. I never thought I got F grade for my midterm. At that point, I know I have to get my act together. So I ask several of my native friends to read over my paper for corrections. And I get a good result at the end of the semester. I learned that I should always strike to do my best. Don't just assume you are good enough and not having to strike to do your best, you gonna pay for that mis-assumption.
  2. What irritates you about other people, and how do you deal with it?
    Some people can be very demanding even if you are trying to help them. But I always try my best in helping other people. I just gonna tell them this is all I can do. I would not feel irritated because I feel good helping other people
  3. If I were your supervisor and asked you to do something that you disagreed with, what would you do?
    I'll try to be rational. I think I'll try to explain how's it's not good for the company or the worker. I'll try to explain in a respect manner and ask his opinion if he or she still think it's a good thing to do. If they still want to to do it, I’ll try my best to do what he ask for. Because it's my job to follow his direction.
  4. What was the most difficult period in your life, and how did you deal with it?
  5. Give me an example of a time you did something wrong. How did you handle it?
    I was doing my internship at oceanic. I have to perform installing new system on the new switch. Basically I erase the whole system without putting on the new system. I was panic because I knew my supervisor will get mad at me. But after telling my supervisor, he did not get mad at me for damaging the switch because he got everything backup. I learned that when you do something wrong. Yo have to admit it and be sincere. It's easy to forgive when people make mistake because we can learn from our mistake. But if you lie about making a mistake and making excuses, people will not forgive. I learned that from my supervisor.
  6. What irritates you about other people, and how do you deal with it?
  7. Tell me about a time where you had to deal with conflict on the job.
    I'll try to stay calm. Be rational and reasonable. I'll try to communicate with that person to find out what was the cause of this. I am sure, with proper communication, everything will be fine.
  8. If you were at a business lunch and you ordered a rare steak and they brought it to you well done, what would you do?
    I'll just gonna take it. Maybe they are too busy and make mistake on my order. It's understandable. Nobody is perfect.
  9. If you found out your company was doing something against the law, like fraud, what would you do?
    It depend on what they do. If they break the law to harm people. I'm not gonna stay still and watch them do that. However, if they break the laws for the sake of people. I'll keep them in check.
  10. What assignment was too difficult for you, and how did you resolve the issue?
    I had to do a web server project in the class without any instructions. Everyone had a hard time finding how to started it the project. So I went online look for answers and what need to be done first. Like step by step. At first it was so difficult, but as I started doing the project, it get easier and easier. One thing I learn, don't panic and stress over difficult task because nothing will be accomplished. But instead, keep trying my best to look for the solution. Eventually everything will be resolve.
  11. What's the most difficult decision you've made in the last two years and how did you come to that decision?
    Not in 2 years. But I think the toughest decision I have to make is decide to take IT as my major in college. I literally know nothing about computer. I didn't have the necessary skills to be successful in the field. I didn't think I can graduate with what I chose. I just went with it because I think i
  12. Describe how you would handle a situation if you were required to finish multiple tasks by the end of the day, and there was no conceivable way that you could finish them.
    I will prioritize what is tasks are the most important. What absolutely need to be done first. I'll do them first. Then I’ll try my best to do the rest of the less important task.
